Bill MacCormick

Biography
Bill's paintings in watercolours and oils over 40 years have covered a wide range of motifs. Early landscape work was followed by the influence of more urban environments.

Although the motifs are from contemporary New Zealand-people, the buildings around them and the landscape-stylistically there are influences from his exposure to French impressionist works and early watercolours.

A feeling for open spaces and the marks of those who have gone before us come through in much of the work.

His paintings are in private and corporate collections in N.Z. and overseas.
Reproduction prints and cards of many paintings have been published by Nicolas & MacCormick, they can be seen at www.nzartprints.co.nz

Influences: Early landscape work influenced by 19th century watercolours of explorer artists of NZ. Other artistic influences: Degas, other French impressionists, Matisse, and the history of painting.
