 Description
A series of three beer cans, each of which depicts a Maaori version of Venus (after Botticelli) and titled 'Matariki IPA, pia 5.8%'. The design was commissioned by Good George Brewery and the artist is Shane Hansen (Tainui – Ngaati Hine, Ngaati Maahunga).
Each of the cans are different in colour (pink, green and blue) and Venus's hair colour changes to contrast or complement the predominant background colour of the can.
Good George donated these to our permanent collection at our request.
