 Description
This cross-section of a 1910 butter factory shows the tiered platforms designed to simplify handling of the raw milk and cream received at the factory. Also worth noting is the way the internal walls are plastered up to the height needed to ensure easy and thorough cleaning. At the far left of the drawing can be seen a small sculptural element at the end of the roof ridge line, the barest gesture to decoration of this purely functional building.
