Biography
Born in New Zealand, C.H. Howorth was the son of George Howorth and Sarah Mottram, herself the daughter of a famous English steel engraver. C.H. Howorth was the engineer for Southland Country for twenty-two years and co-founder of the Invercargill Art Society in 1893. In 1912 he moved to Wanganui and became an early member of the Wanganui Arts and Crafts Society.
