Biography
E. Mervyn Taylor was a versatile artist who worked as a wood engraver, painter, illustrator and designer. With Eileen Mayo, Taylor was the most prominent of New Zealand's mid-century printmakers. He published several books of his wood engravings, and exhibited his works around New Zealand. In 1950 he was elected a member of the Society of Illustrators in New York, exhibiting his work there in 1954.
