Biography
Better known for her portraiture than for her country scenes, Kelly is still stongly linked to the Canterbury Regional School of landscape painters.

Her background includes study at the Canterbury College School of Art (established in 1884) and travel overseas with her husband Cecil, who was also a painter. The Kellys spent much time together drawing and painting in the Canterbury landscape.

Annie Kelly's career is studded with achievements - works were accepted by the Royal Academy in London; she gained an Honourable Mention in the Paris Salon and won the Silver Medal for her portraiture at the Society of French Artists in 1905.
