Description
Spanish Foreign Legion sword and scabbard, that was eventually brought to New Zealand. The words written on blade, FABRICA DE TOLEDO. Steel made in Toledo Spain. Possibly dates back to Battle of Waterloo period. Type of sword carried by artillery officers (pre 1900s) similar to those used in New Zealand Campaigns of 1860s and similar to 1853 British pattern.
