History/Notes:, WWI purchased in NZ by Mrs G Gordon. This teapot stand was part of a set of British made china items produced as souvenir for assisting war effort. It is decorated with a cartoon war scene featuring soldiers in a trench and captioned: "If you knows of a better 'ole, go to it. A patriotic message is printed on the underside: made by the girs of Stafford during the winter of 1917 when the boys were away in the trenches fighting for liberty and civilization.'
