Description
Volume II of "A Voyage Round The World" by George Anson, dated 1790.

George Anson (1697–1762) was a British Royal Navy officer who served as a junior officer during the War of the Spanish Succession and then against Spain at the Battle of Cape Passaro during the War of the Quadruple Alliance. He undertook his circumnavigation around the world from 1740 to 1744 (during the War of Jenkins' Ear). The voyage was notable for the capture of an Acapulco galleon but also horrific losses to disease with only 188 men of the original 1,854 surviving.

Anson went on to be First Lord of the Admiralty during the Seven Years' War.
