Description
This type of steel head axe is known as a broad axes used for squaring Trees logs (shaving the sides flat from fallen trees). One side of the blade cheek is flattened and the other side is bevelled. Made by Daniel Simmons & Co, in Cohoes, New York in the early 1800's.
