Description
Willow. Crack willow is classified by Biosecurity NZ as an unwanted organism. ‘No person shall knowingly communicate, release, sell, offer to sell, display in a place where plants where plants are offered for sale or exhibition, propagate or breed grey or crack willow.’ Common along waterways, willow forms vast thickets, replaces native species and modifies drainage, leading to erosion and increased sedimentation.
