Description
Silver chalice decorated with embossed floral swags and inscribed "To John Chandler from Captn Francis W. Sullivan RN.CB in remembrance of his valuable services on the River Waikato during the operations of 1863 & 1864".
Chalice was made in London by Joseph Angell in 1861 as indicated by the hallmark. Probably engraved in Auckland by an unknown engraver after 1864.
