Description
16th (Waikato) Regiment collar badge (right hand side) which belonged to John or William Storry of Collingwood Street, Hamilton.
The regiment was formed on 17 March 1911 as a Regiment of Infantry in the Auckland District with Headquarters at Hamilton. Became the Waikato Regiment in 1921. The Waikato Regiment was absorbed into the 1st Armoured Regiment in 1950. The motto was: "Ka whawhai tonu ake ake" (We shall fight forever and ever).
