Description
Model of stern wheeler paddlesteamer. (The wheel is at the reverse of the boat). Other name: river ferry.
The model took more than 100 hours making.
The Manuwai was used as both a passenger and cargo vessel, was assembled in Wanganui and launched in 1894. It came to Hamilton in the 1920s. It came to the end of its run in the 1940s and now all that remains of it are a few pieces of scrap.
