Description
This painting references the Clarice cliff pottery, seen here with the pottery tea set in the foreground and the name "Clarice" in the title. The pottery is juxtaposed with the large naturalistic ape and classical female nude figure. Clarice Cliff pottery was renowned for its spectacular colour, abstract style and design. An influence in the Art Deco ceramic design.
