Description
This painting features the heads of the Coromandel Harbour with the Pacific Ocean on the horizon. Grassy hills are represented with a 3D effect, achieved by the artist mixing a ‘sandy’ material with the paint. This painting demonstrates the artist’s favourite subject of dramatic landscapes where the ocean meets the land.

Jill Perrott studied at Elam School of Fine Art, Auckland in the 1960s under the tuterage of Colin McCahon, Garth Tapper and Robert Ellis. She then travelled overseas and did not seriously pursue painting until the 1990s. She had her first solo exhibition in 1997.
