British assault on Nicaraguan position at Sarapequi, Rio San del Norte (Greytown River) Nicaragua, Feb 1848.
A number of lithographs of subjects closely allied to von Tempsky's personal experience are held in the Hawaiian family collection suggesting that von Tempsky was involved in this process.
Von Tempsky served as a volunteer in the 2nd expedition against the Nicaraguans in 1848 which retook San Juan del Norte as well as other positions at Sarapequi, Castillo Viejo and San Carlos, on the Rio San Juan Del Norte.
