Description
Prayer Booklet – Ko Te Whakaeminga Mai O Te Pono Te A.E.I Ranei O Te Kupu. Printed in Maaori language, this booklet of 31 pages, was published during a time when the King Movement and Maaori concerns with land issues and governance were a significant topic. Although the publisher is unknown there were a number of Maaori printing presses operating throughout New Zealand and particularly in the Waikato. The most influential of these was the Hikioi which operated out of Ngaaruawaahia until General Duncan Alexander Cameron’s invasion in 1863.
