Tawa Street Backyard: Rotowaro - Two Years Apart

David Bramwell Cook
Production date
Photograph taken in 1987 and 1989 by commissioned photographer, David Cook for use in the 2000 Shifting Ground: Stories from Rotowaro exhibition. Images depict the same scene taken two years apart. The upper image shows the rear view of a single story wooden house. There is a washing line full of washing stretched across the back yard. Two sheds can also be seen - to the right and the left of the house. A parked caravan is by the shed on the left. A wood and wire fence runs alongside the boundary of the property. The lower image shows the same property overrun with weeds and cleared of all buildings. It is only recognisable as the same section by the established trees along the right hand side of the image.
