Description
Photographs taken in 1987 and 1989 by commissioned photographer, David Cook for use in the 2000 Shifting Ground: Stories from Rotowaro exhibition. Images depict the same scene taken two years apart. The upper image shows a rear view of a single story wooden residence. There are established shrubs in the backyard and a circular washing line with a small amount of washing hanging on it. There are a coal bin and an open shed to the right of the house. The left hand side of the image gives a partial view of another building, possibly a sleep out. The boundary of the property is marked by a wood and wire fence. There is a power pole near to middle area of the fence line. The lower image depicts the same area with all buildings cleared. The land is overgrown with weeds and there are two cushions discarded near where the fence formerly stood.
