Description
An instrument consisting of a hollow gourd with both ends cut off, so that one is open and the other is covered with a snake/lizard skin. A number of small wooden pins secure the skin to the gourd. Through the gourd runs a skinny length of wood which also acts as the handle and/or neck of the instrument. At the opposite end to the gourd is a wooden peg around which a piece of string is looped. The string runs the length of the instrument and is tied to the other end just past the top of the gourd. The peg can be adjusted for tension.
