Snuff container

Unknown Maker
The main body of the vase-shaped container is made of horn. The shoulder, neck, base and stopper are of dark wood. The base is carved out to form four tiny legs. The wood is nailed into the horn by a series of small nails: four groups of two round the upper edge and four groups of three on the lower edge. The stopper is carved into eight points.
