The yarn is spun from native cotton for the fine Ikat fabrics of the Iban.
This spinning wheel has six individual parts made predominantly of wood. Parts of the spinning wheel have a petal or leaf type design. The base has a hollowed out rectangle at the centre. The upright arms holding the spindle are shaped at the top edges. The spindle is made up of multiple wooden spokes connected by rope.
