Seed pod container

Description
In 1974 Waikato Museum acquired a selection of items, including this seed pod container, from Graham Jackson. Jackson was a New Zealand anthropologist who spent time living with and researching the Kopon and the Kalam people of the Lower Kaironk Valley in Papua New Guinea.

Jackson fieldnotes: Gourd like seed pod used as a vessel. Mangnayp = this is the name of the vine from which this is obtained. It is occasionally used as a container for small shell valuables and other small objects.
