Description
Paper and silk scroll, painted with a general river and landscape view. The painting is bordered at each end by cream-coloured silk and is on fine cloth adhered to the paper. The painting may have been coloured as faint reds and blues are visible. The beginning of the scroll is blue/green silk with an end of cream silk. On the outside is 240mm of embroidery. A band 55mm wide is well preserved showing the green, black and red design. The rest is worn and faded. The tie is brown and white and well-worn. A thin strip of paper with Chinese script is adhered to the reverse near the rod at the end, alongside a wax seal.
