Man with Cello by Raymond McIntyre, a portrait of Gladstone Bell. Gladstone Bell (1881–1962) was a well-known British cellist who toured the world three times before settling in Australia. He lived in New Zealand for around two years, teaching at teaching at the Dunedin School of Music and Dramatic Art and at the Canterbury School of Music.
