Form: arm holding taiaha, flanked by ferns surmounted by crown; scroll with motto.
The scroll features the regimental motto: 'Ka Whawhai Tonu Ake Ake’ (We Shall Fight For Ever and Ever). The phrase was famously uttered by Ngati Maniapoto rangatira Rewi Maniapoto at the Battle of Orakau in 1864.
