Grandparents at the Door

Maker
Michael Duncan Smither
Production date
1969
Description
The door glass panes enable visability of the grandparents on the outside and two grandchildren (toddlers) wait on the inside ready to greet them.

Michael Smither's parents, Bill and Mary, loved visiting their grandchildren. This painting was from a scene at their home called 'The Gables', a historic colonial house in New Plymouth which the Smithers were caretakers of during the 1960s.
