Diggeress Rangituatahi Te Kanawa
Description
A bodice made from muka (processed flax fibre). At each side of the bodice there is a poka (dart) that shapes the bodice. Mawhitiwhiti (cross-stitch) forms the design woven in the body of the bodice with the bottom edge finished with a natural tassel fringe. Taniko decorates the top of the bodice and uses traditionally dyed threads. The back is laced together with a muka tie. Made by Diggeress Te Kanawa for Kiri Te Kanawa.
