Description
Made from muka (processed flax fibre) and decorated entirely across main panel with kaka feathers. The kaakaa feathers have been arranged in a repeating triangular design with feathers facing both upwards and downwards creating a three dimensional effect (chevron pattern). The bottom of the cloak is finished with a taniko band and a naturally coloured tasselled fringe. The here (draw string) is naturally coloured muka. The cloak was made by Diggeress Te Kanawa for her husband Tana Te Kanawa.
