Description
This elegant black satin skirt is full length and has eight panels with a very full gathered waist. There is a pocket opening on the right side. A train is at the back. The lining is of a treated cotton fabric that looks like oil cloth. The hem lining is weighted with horse hair and velvet.
The bodice has a high round neck and a stand up collar with a pleated frill at the back which hangs down. The sleeves are gathered at the shoulder and are fitting, long and set-in (mutton leg) style. The cuffs are decorated with tucks, lace and bows. The bodice is also boned, fitted straight at waistline with a satin frill and lined with cotton twill.
The bodice waist also has a belt with a buckle on the inside. The bodice is open down the front – with double front buttons on inner, soft pleats on outer side. Epaulettes are on the shoulders made of lace, with trimmed pointed edges that cover the top of sleeves.
